About our organization
Little Dreamers of Guatemala is a charity created to provide assistance to impoverished communities in various cities across multiple countries. Our goal is to bring clean water and provide at least basic living conditions to families around the globe. Slowly we have started with small projects such as clothing and toiletry donations, school supplies and food baskets for families in need.
While David (13 years of age) was playing with friends, he was struck by a high tension cable and received 3rd degree electric burns in 90% of his body. He was taken to a hospital 9 hours away from his hometown. From May-December 2019 he has undergone 19 operations to treat the burns and remove damaged tissue from his wounds. He was discharged in December and when follow up was needed earlier in 2020, because of the Covid-19 pandemic the rehabilitation center was forced to close. David then found Little Dreamers of Guatemala on social media and through Alma Aguilar, a journalist in Peten, Guatemala, we connected with him. We decided to sponsor his search for treatment. We started looking for hospitals that would be willing to treat him. He is in need of more Skin Grafts surgeries as it is getting hard for him to swallow and breath. Little Dreamers of Guatemala was able to establish a partnership with Shriners Hospitals for kids to continue his much needed treatment. He will need to be admitted for 4-8 months to complete his rehabilitation. Due to Covid-19 he will need to travel to Galveston, TX and his mother will need to stay with him. Our Foundation will need to cover costs of air fare and food and housing for the duration of their stay. Shriners will cover all medical costs. We are asking for you to contribute to our campaign so that we are able to ensure that David gets the much needed medical attention he needs. Any amount that you can give is much appreciated. Ongoing Project
Our current project is focused in Variedades, Guatemala. We need your help to build multiple wells and restrooms to accommodate fifty-three families. These families currently share seven makeshift restrooms and no electricity or running water.
Our goal is to build at least one restroom per family and one for the school. Our estimated cost and goal for this project is $50,000. With your help, we can reach this goal and provide families with basic living conditions . Your contributions, big or small are funding and impacting these families in need directly.
Please contact me at (323) 594-5144 if you would like additional information. Little Dreamers of Guatemala is a 501c3 non-profit organization and as such, your gift is tax-deductible. Thank you for your time and consideration.
